Masters Machine Company is looking for a full-time CNC Swiss Programmer. The Programmer will support projects and operations of various CNC Lathe/Swiss turning machining centers to facilitate production. Position Description and Responsibilities
- Lay out and develop programs for effective machining
- Design and determine tooling needed for projects
- Troubleshoot, help operators to find solutions
- Adhere to and maintain production schedules
- Train operators to utilize skills needed to maintain quality products
- Entering commands to retrieve preprogrammed instructions from data base
- Entering commands or manually adjusting machine controls to correct malfunctions or out of tolerance machining
- Stopping machine to change cutting tools and setup according to required machining sequences or to measure parts for conformance to blueprint specifications, using precision measuring instruments
- Selecting and installing cutting tools in machine spindles
- Setting up machines or machining centers to perform various machine functions such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring or broaching metal parts, utilizing knowledge of machine tool capabilities, machine ability of materials and shop math
- Transferring programs to machine
- Mounting, aligning, and securing tooling attachments and parts on machine
- Calculating and setting machine controls to position spindle in relationship to part and regulating factors such as cutting depth, speed, feed, and coolant flow
- Using statistical process control techniques
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and other related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings and machining methods
- Keeping work area clean and safe, following safety procedures for the area
Successful applicants must have:
- Full understanding of the operations of the machines
- 1-4 years’ hands-on experience as a multi-axis Swiss Turning Machinist in a production metal cutting environment
- Esprit programming for CNC Turning
- G-code programming – using variables and Macro-B arguments
- Visual inspection with the use of a Dino-Lite and small parts with attention to detail
- Flexible, reliable, self-starting team player with ability to work with little or no supervision
- Good communication skills
